Printing

From the CnMBook site (http://www.cnmlifestyle.com):

The printing function will support most USB printers manufactured by Canon, Dymo, Epson, HP, OKIDATA, Zebra. Other manufacturers printers should work, but haven't been tested at this time.

Download the following files and copy them to an SD Card or USB Memory Stick (The size limit for these expansion cards is 4GB)

  • Insert the SD Card or USB Memory Stick into the CnMBook.
  • Click on the Work Tab at the top of the screen.
  • Open File Manager by clicking on the icon.
  • Copy the files from the SD Card (SD\SD_1\) or USB Memory Stick (USB\USB_1\) to the My Documents\Download folder by copying and pasting them.
  • Click on the Others Tab in the top right hand corner.
  • Click Software Installer.
  • Click the ADD button.
  • The file will be listed as:

    printer-1.0.0.info
     
  • Double click on the file called printer-1.0.0.info.info.
  • Click the Finish button when it has finished installing (Please note that this file may take a few minutes to install).
  • Click the Close button to close Software Installer.
  • There will now be a printer manager logo on desktop.

To configure your printer use the following procedure:

  • Plug in the USB printer.
  • Click the printer manager icon within the Others tab to open the printer manager (you can also open it directly via your web browser by visiting webpage http://127.0.0.1:631/).
  • To add the printer (Note: A printer needs to be added before it will work with the CnMBook), click the Administration button.
  • New Printer Found will show the printer is now connected to the CnMBook.
  • Click Add Priner.
  • Change to the Model page, scroll to the end of the page and click Add Printer.
  • You will need to fill the account and password for the management of printer, and both of these are root unless this has been specified diferently.
  • The Printer will have been added successfully and you will now be able to print.

Please Note: The default setting oif the print service is not to start automatically, you will need to click the Printer Manager icon on the desktop to start the print service.
